Alliance Spacesystems has two Southern California facilities – a 14,000 square-foot headquarters and engineering facility near JPL in Pasadena, and a 77,000-square-foot composite and structures manufacturing and assembly facilities near customers in Los Angeles’ South Bay, such as Boeing, Raytheon and Northrop Grumman Space Technology.
Facilities include:
- Precision CNC machine shop
- Inspection and test labs
- Class-10,000 clean room to meet the rigid cleanliness requirements for spacecraft hardware
- Environmentally controlled lay-up room
- High bays for lay-up and assembly
- Autoclaves measuring 7.5-foot diameter by 23 feet, 4-foot diameter by 5 feet, and 2-foot diameter by 4 feet
- Multiple ovens, the largest of which is 10-by-10-by-7 feet
- Heated platen press (12-by-16 feet and multiple heater control units)
- Reticulator
- Walk-in refrigerated materials storage
- Coordinate-measurement machines (CMM)
- Theodolite and laser tracking inspection
- Mechanicals and physical properties testing
- Machine shop including 3- and 4-axis CNC mills and 3-axis high speed-routers
