Michael Kearney

Michael Kearney has joined our team as President and General Manager of MDA Alliance. His extensive experience in both government and industry provides a solid foundation for his vision and leadership of the company as we enter an era of revolutionary growth in spacecraft and robotics.

Mr. Michael Kearney served as President and Chief Executive Officer of SPACEHAB, Inc. for 4 years. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Kearney held several key roles on SPACEHAB's executive team. He served as the company's President and COO, where he oversaw the tactical development of the company’s participation in the human space flight program. Mr. Kearney also held the positions of Senior Vice President and Vice President for Business Development, during which he was integral in establishing and maintaining customer relationships, supervising the Houston Business Development division, and positioning the Company for International Space Station opportunities.

His strong background in government procurement and quality assurance, flight crew issues, and production management stems from serving 25 years as a U.S. Navy Aeronautical Engineering Officer. While in the military, he gained invaluable experience in administration, program management, and aircraft depot management. He flew Navy fighter aircraft both in combat and in a production acceptance role. Prior to departing the Navy, he was appointed Program Manager for the A6/EA-6 aircraft, responsible for an annual budget of $10 billion. In 1991, he joined McDonnell Douglas as Director of the crew and robotics systems business area, and was subsequently promoted to Director of Advanced Product Development for the Space Station Division.

Mr. Kearney holds Bachelor's in Engineering and a Master’s of AeroEngineering from the Navy Postgraduate School, graduating cum laude.
